I considered making my third guess VIDEO but at that point I wanted to play a word with three consonants and two vowels. EMOJI wasn’t on my radar screen until I saw that it was a possibility. That does it for the month of May. I finished the month with an average score 4.29, not my worst ever but that’s pretty high for me. This is the fifth consecutive month that my average score has been over 4 guesses per game.

The last time this happened was Jul to Nov 2023 but in that stretch I had an average score of exactly 4 one month and 4.03 another month. This time around my lowest monthly average score was 4.19.

No surprise here, given what I just pointed out, but for the fifth month in a row my +/- 4 score is negative. My cumulative score was +6 at the end of 2025. It is now -25.

I see it but I don’t believe it. I was really stumped after my fifth guess. It’s kind of funny in a way that there was an E in my first guess and three of them in the answer but I managed not to place the one in my first guess in one of the right places.

That’s it for March. Here are some stats. My average score for March was 4.19. This isn’t as high as the last couple months but it’s still much higher than my overall average of 4.04. I avoided having a third consecutive month in which my average score was 4.20 or higher but only by a hair. Maybe it was the one game I finished in 2 guesses that helped me to avoid the shame of making it three months in a row.

Twice this month I started a game with 0.2.3 and successfully finished it in 6 guesses. This is just the third time that has happened more than once in a calendar month. It has never happened more than twice in a calendar month.

I started five games with 0.1.4 this month. This isn’t the first time I’ve started only five games with 0.1.4 in a calendar month but I’ve never started fewer than five with 0.1.4 and this has only happened twice before. The two prior months in which I started only five games with 0.1.4 were Jun 2022 and Apr 2023.

I finished four of the five games I started with 0.1.4 in four guesses and one in six guessses. For the first time, since I started playing Wordle, I went a whole calendar month without starting a game with 0.1.4 and finishing in either 3 or 5 guesses.

The last time I started a game with 2.0.3 and finished it in 4 guesses was in May 2025. This is the 15th time that I have started a game with 2.0.3 and finished it in 4 guesses.

This is my second 0Y game this month. This is the 24th consecutive month that I have had at least one 0Y game. I’ve had at least two 0Y games in 23 of the past 24 months.

This is the ninth time that I have started a 0Y game with 2.0.3 and the first time since Dec 2024 that I have started a 0Y game in this manner.
