I didn’t exactly breeze through my second and third guesses but it took at least a couple minutes after I saw the results of my third guess for me to come up with my fourth guess and convince myself that I couldn’t think of any better words.

This is my first 5G game in which I have had all black on the first two guesses. One could say that this is the second time this has happened but my game from 05/25/22 was both a 5G and a 0Y game.

This is the 25th game during my current winning streak that has started with 0.0.5. That’s a little over 1 out of every 4 games which is a considerably higher frequency than any other streak that has gotten this far.

I considered making LAIRD my second guess before settling on LATCH. Clearly I made the right call (this time around) in second guessing myself.

I played it safe with my second and third guesses and it paid off.

I am 25 days into the month and I have yet to start a games with 0.2.3, a word that consists of 2 yellow and 3 black letters. This is the second most common start combination I have seen in 4 plus years of playing Wordle. This by far the furthest I have made it into a month without starting a game with 0.2.3. The furthest I had made it into a month without starting a game with 0.2.3 (prior to now) was 16 days in Apr 2022.

I took my time with this game. BUYER didn’t occur to me until at least a minute after I saw the results of my third guess.

This, my 17th winning streak, is now exactly as long as my 3rd winning streak. I have only had three winning streaks that lasted longer than my current winning streak: 8th (213 games), 10th (443 games), and 16th (203 games). Here are some stats.

A few things really jump out at me in the stats:

First, I finished considerably more games in 5 guesses during my 17th winning streak.

Second, I finished considerably more games in 5 or 6 guesses than I did in 1, 2, or 3 guesses in my 17th streak. That's the +/- 4 number which is just -2 for winning streak 3 but is -15 for winning streak 17.

Finally, I started considerably more games with nothing but black letters in my first guess (0.0.5) in my 17th winning streak.

At first I thought my second guess should begin with C but then I started to consider other possibilities. I didn’t think of ATTIC until after my third guess.

I checked after the fact and ANTIC has been the answer in the past but OPTIC has not.

This is the fourth anniversary of the day I started playing Wordle. I didn’t start keeping track of every game I played until 03/10/22 so I don’t have a record of my very first game but that’s what I recall. Yesterday would have been my 1461st game except for the fact that I skipped playing one day somewhere between 02/22/22 and 03/10/22. I don’t recall exactly what day it was that I skipped playing but I think it was during February.

I really feel like I dodged a bullet with this game. I intended for my first guess to be BULKY but I hit enter before I checked what I had typed. I didn’t consider putting the letter K into my second or fourth guesses. My third guess could have been SHAKE but I decided that I liked SHAME better given my stupid mistake earlier in the game. I saw three possible answers after my fourth guess. AWAKE was one of those words and the other was WEAZE.

I played this game in Hard mode. I considered turning that off after my fourth guess but once I narrowed my options down to three words, all of which contained the letter W, I decided to play on in Hard mode.

I checked after the fact and neither WEAVE nor WEAZE has been the answer in the past.

This is the first time this month that I have started a game with 0.0.5 and finished it in 6 guesses. I also started one game with 0.0.5 and finished it in 6 guesses last month. This is the first time I have had this happen in back to back months. This is the 19th time that I have started a game with 0.0.5 and finished it in 6 guesses.
