I had no idea if SPRAG was a word when I tried it.

I overlooked the fact that I placed A in the same place in my fourth guess as I did in my third. SAUCY should have been my fourth guess but I didn’t think of it until after I had tried SQUAW. My fourth guess did, on the plus side, narrow the possible answers down, according to the bot, to just two words.

The first, last, and only other time that I had a game that consisted of 12 green, 5 yellow, and 13 black letters was on 10/28/24. It was the game that ended my 11th winning streak.

This is the second time this month that I have started a game with 1.0.4 and successfully finished it in 6 guesses. This is the first time that I have had more than one such game in a calendar month.

It took me a minute to figure what words were left after my third guess. There were just two but the only other possible answer (JUNTA) didn’t occur to me.

I spent most of my time on my third guess. I decided where I wanted to put the L and the Y fairly quickly but then it took me several minutes to find a word that met those conditions. There was only one other possible answer, according to the bot, after my second guess but the other word (LEERY) didn’t come to mind when I was casting about for a word to play.

If I had thought of COPSE after my second guess then I might have tried it then but I didn’t.

There were three possible answers after my second guess, according to the bot. The word I didn’t try (COUPE) came to mind at that time but I didn’t try it because it had three vowels.

I spent most of my time on my second guess. I was looking for a word that had four consonants. I finally settled for PESTY which was more helpful than I feared it would be. It took me from 176 possible answers, according to the bot, down to just one. MESSY came to mind immediately but then I spent maybe a minute checking to see if I could find any other words that fit before finally giving it a try.

The last time I had a game like this one (no yellow, started with one green, progressed to three green, finished in three guesses) was almost exactly a year ago today on 09/25/25.
