I considered making BROOM my third guess right after I saw the results of my second guess. I spent a lot of time trying to come up with other possible third guesses. I don’t know why BLOOM didn’t occur to me until after I finally gave BROOM a try.

I thought of MOOCH as a possible answer when I was working on my second guess but I didn’t try it then because it had two Os. It seemed more likely that it could be the answer after my third guess.

This is only the fourth time that my next to last guess has been 1.0.4 and that I have finished the game in 4 guesses. The first of those games happened on 06/22/23 and was a Plan B game so it looked nothing like today’s game. The second happened on 07/24/23 and started with 0.0.5 and looked not too dissimilar from today’s game. The third happened on 07/17/24 and looked fairly similar to today’s game.

I was thinking of making my third guess one that included C and D but the only word I could think of was CAGED. I didn’t like that word so I cast about for other words to try and landed on MAVEN.

I thought of CELLO within 10-15 seconds after my fourth guess but then I probably spent 2-3 minutes trying to think of other possible words that fit.

I didn’t notice until after I played my third guess that I had put the L in the same place as in my second guess.

I am stunned that I have now had three 5G games that I finished in 5 guess in four days considering that prior to three days ago I had only ever had two. It was a little different than yesterday because I started with 0.1.4 but still this is nutty.

MADGE and EMBED are both words that I had never tried before in almost 4 years of playing Wordle.

I spent most of my time on my fourth and fifth guesses. I more or less dismissed the idea that the answer would end with ED until I was playing around with the letters and stumbled across EMBED.

This is the 19th time during my current winning streak that I have started a game with 0.0.5. This matches the number of games I started with 0.0.5 during my eighth winning streak (213 games). I have only started more games with 0.0.5 during my 10th (443 games) and 16th (204 games) winning streaks.

Prior to two days ago I had only had two 5G games that took me 5 guesses to complete but now it has happened twice in three days. Prior to days ago I had never started a 5G game with 0.0.5 and finished it in 5 guesses but now it has happened twice in three days.
