I wasn’t so sure about starting with VODKA but it all worked out in the end.

This is my second 12345 game this year. My last one occurred on 02/04/26 and also took 4:05 to complete. Overall this is my 21st such game. This is the first time I’ve ended a month with a 12345 game.

This is the 10th time this month that I have finished a game 5 guesses. This the fourth time I have managed this feat.

This is the 125th time that I have started a game with 0.1.4 and finished it in 5 guesses. This is the 125th time that my next to last guess has been 4.0.1 and that I have finished the game in 5 guesses.

That does it for the month of May. I finished the month with an average score 4.29, not my worst ever but that’s pretty high for me. This is the fifth consecutive month that my average score has been over 4 guesses per game.

This is the second time that I have had an average score of 4 or more guesses per game in five consecutive months. The last time this happened was Jul to Nov 2023 but in that stretch I had an average score of exactly 4 one month and 4.03 another month. This time around my lowest monthly average score was 4.19.

No surprise here, given what I just pointed out, but for the fifth month in a row my +/- 4 score is negative. My cumulative score was +6 at the end of 2025. It is now -25.

Going in I had serious doubts abouter starting with a word that ended with XER.

This is the first time this month and 27th time overall that I have started a game with 0.0.5 and finished it in 3 guesses.

This is the third time time I have started a game with 0.0.5, gotten just one letter with my second guess, and got the answer with my third guess. The other two times this happened were 08/29/24 and 09/06/25.

This is the eleventh time that I have started a 0Y game with 0.0.5 and finished it in 3 guesses. The last time it happened was 01/23/26.

I spent a lot of time on my last two guesses, especially my fourth one. I’m not sure if there were any other possible answers after my third guess..

I thought about it again after my second guess but I still wasn’t ready to give it a try at that point. I was still reluctant to try it after my third guess but I decided to give it a go, despite my preference for words that have five different letters.

POUCH did not occur to me when I was working on my second guess but I wonder now if my second guess had been POUCH if I would have finished this one in 3 guesses. Probably not because I probably would have tried either TOUCH or VOUCH first.
