I spent most of my time on my third guess. I would have preferred to make it a word that ended in Y and only had one vowel but I couldn’t come up with any that fit that criteria.

This is the 19th time that I have started a game with nothing but black letters in my first two guesses and the 15th time that I have found just one letter in my first three guesses but it is only the third time that both things have occurred in the same game. I found 2 consonants with my first guess today, as I did yesterday. This is the 14th time that this has happened on consecutive days. I’ve never had it happen more than two days in a row.

This is the first time this month that I have started a game with 0.2.3 and finished it in 3 guesses. This is the fourth consecutive month that I have started at least one game with 0.2.3 and finished it in 3 guesses. I have started at least one game with 0.2.3 and finished it in 3 guesses in 39 of the past 49 games.

This is the fourth time that it has taken me 3 guesses to finish a game and that it has consisted of 7 green, 4 yellow, and 4 black letters. All three prior games took place in 2023. Only my first game of this kind (see 04/26/23) also started with 0.2.3 although the exact arrangement of yellow, green, and black in my first two guesses of that game was quite different than in today’s game.

I wasn’t crazy about my third guess but it was the first word that came to mind that fit. I tried to find something else but I wasn’t looking for something that used all three of the remaining vowels at that point. Even after my third guess it probably took at least a couple minutes before VOGUE occurred to me.
