This game was nowhere near as pretty as yesterday’s game. For the umpteenth time I had to try one letter, A this time around, in all five positions before I found the place where it belonged. That isn’t all that common but I haven’t been tracking that sort of thing so I have no idea how frequently it has happened.

This is the 11th consecutive day that I have finished in 4, 5, or 6 guesses. I’ve reached this mark 3 times before, including one time that I exceeded it.

This is my third 0Y game this month, 15th 0Y game this streak, and 25th 0Y game overall. It is the second time during my current streak and the fourth time overall that I have finished a 0Y game in 5 guesses.

I could see after my second guess that there were at least 6 possible answers. I decided to play it safe and turned off hard mode and try words that had as many of the potential missing letters as possible. It worked but ironically the first word that occurred to me was the answer.

Other possible answers after the second guess were HOUND, FOUND, POUND, ROUND, and BOUND. I had already eliminated WOUND and MOUND.

This is the third time this month that I have started with 1.0.4. That is more than double my average which is usually around 13 percent of the time.

I’m done with Septle. They repeat words. They reset things midday. They made more promises today about fixing inconsistencies but I don’t think that’s good enough for me. From here on out I think will just be playing the NYT Wordle.

I got a little concerned after my second guess that there were a lot of possible answers out there. I’m not sure how much my third guess narrowed down the possible answers but the two words I tried after my third guess are the only ones that came to mind.

My first thought, after my third guess, was that there must be another vowel in the answer probably an E.

This is my 350th game of Wordle. Here are some statistics.

My overall average score has not changed since my 300th game when it was 4.07 but I've had considerably more 5 and 6 guess games and considerably fewer 3 and 4 guess games (in my last 25 games) than I did in the last 25 games leading up to and including my 300th game.

My average score across my last 25 games is 4.24 as compared to 3.88 across the 25 games leading up to and including my 300th game.

I have finished 12 games in two guesses. It took me 300 games to get that count up to 7 games. I have five more games that I finished in two guesses in my last fifty games. Ten percent of my last 50 games I finished in two guesses. That seems like a really high average. I doubt that count will be up to 17 (or higher) if/when I get to 400 games.

This was not short or pretty but somehow I found the answer. I spent at least 10 minutes trying to figure out what to play after my fifth guess. I think this may be the first and only time that my fifth guess was FIFTH.

I don’t know if there were any other possible answers after my fifth guess. I would not have been happy if I tried something else as my sixth guess considering how close I was with my fifth guess.

My fourth guess was not a good one. It helped in that it got one letter into the right place but I left the T in the same spot it was in the third guess.

It also took me 6 guesses to finish the game the previous time I started with 0.1.4. I also started with 0.1.4 the previous time that it took me 6 guesses to finish the game.
