I saw at least four possible answers after my second guess. I had four guesses left but decided to play it safe and went with Plan B rather than work my way through those 4 guesses. I checked after the fact and three of the four possible answers I thought of had been the answer before. 

This is the first time this month that I have had an equal number of green and black letters and a lesser number of yellow letters. This is the 15th consecutive month that this has happened. This has happened in 29 of the past 30 months.

This is just the fifth time that my next to last guess has been 0.1.4 which usually happens when I go with Plan B.

That’s it for Wordle for August for me. This month was overall a big improvement over last month. Here are some stats.

This is the first complete calendar month within my current winning streak, which is a milestone of sorts. I am happy that my current winning streak has lasted as long as it has. It is currently my fifth longest winning streak. If I can keep winning then by this time next month it will be my fourth longest winning streak.

I finished the month with an average score of 3.90. This is the fourth time that my monthly average been below 4 guesses. This happened four times during 2023 and five times during 2022 even though I didn’t start playing Wordle until late Feb in 2022.

I had two games this month in which there was a greater number of yellow letters than there was of either green or black letters individually but not green and black letters combined. This is just the third this has happened twice in a single month. It has never happened more frequently than twice in a calendar month. It has not happened at all in 16 of the past 30 months.
