This is the 200th time that I have started a game with 0.1.4 and finished in 4 guesses. This start / finish combination accounts for more than 31 percent of the games I have played.

This is the 10th time this month that I have started a game with 0.1.4. This is the first time since Dec 2025 that I have started at least 10 games with 0.1.4 in a calendar month. I have started at least 10 games with 0.1.4 in 24 of the past 50 months.

This is the fourth time that I have only found one letter in my first three guesses and found the answer with my fourth guess. The other three games happened on 07/24/23, 07/17/24, and 02/13/26. My next to last guess in all of those games was 1.0.4.

I thought of MOOCH as a possible answer when I was working on my second guess but I didn’t try it then because it had two Os. It seemed more likely that it could be the answer after my third guess.

The first of those games happened on 06/22/23 and was a Plan B game so it looked nothing like today’s game. The second happened on 07/24/23 and started with 0.0.5 and looked not too dissimilar from today’s game. The third happened on 07/17/24 and looked fairly similar to today’s game.

I sweated a little over what to play for my fourth guess but the only other word that fit that came to mind was MOMMY. I chose to go with HOBBY for what feels like obvious reasons. 

I have started four of the past five games with 0.0.5. This is the first time that has happened.

This is is the first game this month in which my next-to-last guess was 1.0.4. This is just the sixth time that my next-to-last guess was 1.0.4. All six games in which my next-to-last guess was 1.0.4 have happened in different months.
