I spent most of my time, probably more than 12 minutes, on my third and fourth guesses combined. I knew that APRON couldn’t be the answer but I tried it anyway. My second guess, according to the bot, narrowed it down to just two words and my third down to just one. I couldn’t see the only possible answer, despite my good luck with my second and third guesses, until I tried a playable word (for my fourth guess) that fit the pattern but was not the solution.

The other word that might have been the answer after my second guess was ASPEN.

I had no problem idea that SNEAP was a word until I tried it. I had to look it up after the fact to find out what it means.

My fourth guess probably should have been BUMPY but I didn’t think of it until after I played JUMPY. There were 19 possible answers, according to the bot, after my third guess but JUMPY helped me narrow it down to one word.

This is my first 0Y game this month. This is the sixth consecutive month in which I have had at least one 0Y game. I have had at least one 0Y game in 53 of the past 56 months.

I am 10 days into this month and so far my +/- 4 score is -4. Ultimately the most important thing is that I finish these games successfully but I thought my luck had turned in terms of the number of guesses it was taking me to finish games. The evidence so far this month doesn’t seem to back that up.

I wasn’t sure if OSCAR was a possible answer but I thought it was a reasonable second guess and it did help, according to the bot, to get me from 23 down to 10 possible answers.

I only thought of one word that fit after my third guess. My last two guesses didn’t occur to me until after I saw the results of my fourth guess. There were, according to the bot, five possible answers after my third guess but my fourth guess narrowed it down to just two.

This is the second time that MAJOR has been the answer. The first time it was the answer was in July 2021, before I started playing. Only my second and third guesses have not been the answer in the past.
