I got kind of nervous after my fourth guess. I felt like making my fourth guess a word that ended in R was a smart play, at that point. In retrospect I think it was but I started to second guess myself, even though it was too late to do anything about it, while I was looking for my fifth guess.
I was pretty sure that the answer wouldn’t have a D as the fifth letter because past tenses of four letter words, like FIRED for instance, never seem to be the answer. That said, past tense words are not completely out of the question because THREW has been the answer in the past.
I thought of SIREN after my fourth guess but then I probably spent a couple minutes casting about for other possible answers before giving it a try.
This is the first time this month that I have started a game with 1.0.4 and finished it in 5 guesses. This is the fourth consecutive month that I have started at least one game with 1.0.4 and finished it in 5 guesses. I have started at least one game with 1.0.4 and finished it in 5 guesses in 31 of the past 46 months.

That’s it for December. My average number of guesses per game was 3.90. That’s lower than the averages got the past couple months or my overall sverage but it is not close to my lowest monthly average which was closer to 3.60. Nothing else really jumps out at me when I look at the stats for the month.
