My average for September (4.23) was worse than both my average for August (4.16) and my overall average (4.01). The good news is that my streak is still going and I have only been pushed to the limit once so far. Eighty-seven percent (24/30) of my games this month were finished in 5 or fewer guesses. Sixty-three percent (17/30) of my games were finished in 4 or fewer guesses.

Wordle 2022-09
I had three fails this month. In that way it was my worst calendar month since I started playing this game. I finished the month with my best monthly average (3.85) without counting fails. My monthly average including fails (4.07) was also pretty good. I also finished the month with more 4-guess games and less 5-guess games than in any other calendar month. I know there’s an element of luck in this game but I’m still pleased to see how the month wound down considering how it was looking on the 20th.

It took me a while to figure out what to play for my third guess. I didn’t think that SCALL was a word but I tried it anyway. I could have had it in 3 or 4 if I had tried SCALP or SCALD as my third guess but for whatever reason they didn’t occur to me as possibilities until after I tried SCALL.
