I actually tried to come up with a word that started with TOUR (while I was working on my third or fourth guess) and somehow overlooked TOURIST.

This was not short or sweet. I took my time with this one. It took more guesses than I wanted it to. There were lots of other possible correct answers but somehow I found the right one. I was nervous after my second guess because I could see that there was a myriad of possibilities. There seem to be some rules about words that end with ER and I tried to stick with them when I was picking my last three guesses and in the end it seems to have paid off but I think I also got lucky.

I finished the first 53 games in my current streak without it taking me 6 guesses to finish a game. This is the second time in the past 4 games that it has taken me 6 guesses to finish a game.

This is the first time I have started a game with 0.0.5 and finished it in 6 guesses since Aug 27. Usually (22/30) I am able to finish games that begin with 0.0.5 in three or four guesses. It is less common (8/30) for it to take me five or six guesses. I still have yet to lose a game that began with 0.0.5.

I was looking for a word for my second guess that also had an E but I couldn’t find one so I settled for RAINY.

This my 50th game in my current streak. This is my first game in this streak that I finished in 2 guesses. It is also the first game this streak that I did not finish in 3, 4, or 5 guesses. The last time I finished a game in 2 guesses was a little over 2 months ago on Sep 3. It is the first time I started a game with 1.0.4 and finished in 2 guesses and the first time I only had one letter (yellow or green) correct on my first guess and finished in 2 guesses. It is my sixth time overall finishing a game in 2 guesses. All six of those games have started differently.

This is my first 0Y this month. I have now had at least one 0Y in every month starting from April through November. It is my fourth 0Y this streak and my 15th one overall. It is the second time I have finished a game in 2 guesses without any yellow letters.

This is currently my second longest streak. My average score this streak is 3.76 which is lower than for any previous streaks. So far I have finished every game this streak in 2 (1), 3 (20), 4 (19), or 5 (10) guesses. The number of 3 guess games is nearing the number I had in my longest (95) streak when I had 24 such games. I have had three 5G games and four 0Y games during my current streak but I have yet to have a game that is both a 0Y and a 5G in my current streak.

This didn’t take too terribly long but it might have been 20 minutes. I overlooked the fact that there wasn’t a T in my third guess. That was not done intentionally.

I started this game with 0.2.5, which happens on average about 18% of the time. Six of the past 13 games have started with 0.2.5 which is more than twice as frequently as the overall average.

This didn’t take long at all. I looked for other possible answers for my third guess but DREAM was the only one I could find.

This is the first time this month that I have started with 1.1.3 which didn’t happen very frequently in the last couple months. It only happened once in September and once in October even though, according to my records, it happens a little more frequently than 10% of the time.

This game didn’t last long. Maybe I should have looked for a word that didn’t have a double letter for my fourth guess but I’m not sure that I would have finished it any faster if I had.

I usually (8/11) finish games that start with with 1.1.4 in 3 or 4 guesses. This is the first time I have finished a game that started with 1.1.4 in 5 guesses.

This is the second game this month that I started with one green letter. It took me 5 guesses to finish both of those games.

This took me about 10 minutes. I spent most of that time figuring out what my fourth guess should be.

Five of the past six games (including this one) started with 0.2.4.

That was not fast. I knew that my second guess could not be correct but it was the best I could gone up with and it did help. I didn’t think STENCHY was a word. Spellcheck seems to agree with me. It has the word underlined in red. I only tried it because I was desperate.

Even though I finished this game in 3 guesses I feel very unsatisfied with this game.

I started with 2.1.4 for the first time in a little over a week.

Roughly half the time (15/31) that I start with 1.0.4 I finish in 3 guesses. The past 4 games (including this one) that started with 1.0.4 ended in 3 guesses. Prior to that there was a streak of 4 games that started 1.0.4 ending in 4 guesses.

This game did not take long. I might have been able to get it in 3 guesses. Before I hit the submit button on my third guess I considered changing it to something that ended in Y but nothing immediately came to mind. It wasn’t until I saw how close I was with my third guess that my fourth guess occurred to me.

Four of the past five games (including this one) have started with 0.2.4.

That took at least 10-15 minutes. My second guess was missing a T. That was a mistake on my part.

This is just the third time I have started a game with 2.2.3 and the first time that I have started a game with 2.2.3 and finished it in three guesses. The two previous times I started games with 2.2.3 I finished them in 2 or 4 guesses.

This was relatively easy but getting three of the letters on your first guess makes a big difference.

It is unusual for me to start with 0.3.2 which according to my records happens on average once every 20 games. My previous 0.3.2 on my first guess happened 59 days ago on Sep 4. The combination of starting with 0.3.2 and finishing in 3 guesses is not unusual. More often than not (7/12) if I start with with 0.3.2 then I finish it in 3 guesses.

I’m probably lucky that I finished this game at all. My second guess was a colossal blunder.

I started with 1.2.3 for the first time this month. I had two such games each in September and October and four in August. I am usually (5/9) able to finish them in 3 guesses.

This was my 100th game of 6-letter Wordle. My overall average is 4.1 guesses per game. My average was 4.13 after 75 games. My average for the past 25 games is exactly 4.

I had three 6G games and no 0Y games in the past 25 games. Overall I have had six 6G games and three 0Y games.

I usually (65/100) get at least two letters (G or Y) on my first guess. I usually (67/100) don’t get any green letters on my first guess. It is rare (4/100) that I get more than one green letter on my first guess. The most green letters I have gotten on my first guess is two. It isn’t unusual for me to get up to 3 letters (G or Y) on my first guess. It is rare (4/100) for me to get 4 letters on my first guess and I have never gotten more than four.

This took me a while because I was determined not to try any words that I knew were not correct. Despite this intention my third and fourth guesses were both words that I knew could not be the solution.

Usually (10/16) when I begin with 0.3.4 I finish in 4 guesses. That trend seems to be shifting. Three of the past five games that I have started with 0.3.4 have taken me 5 or 6 guesses to finish.

This one took a few more guesses than I wanted it to but it probably didn’t take me more than 10 minutes to finish. I don’t think I wasted any guesses but it wasn’t until my fifth guess that I finally got the E in the right place.

Seven of the past ten games have begun with 0.1.4 even though on average that happens only about one-third of the time.

My current streak is now at 42 which ties the second longest of my previous streaks. It will take me seven-and-a-half weeks, until Christmas Eve, if I make it, to close the gap between my current streak and my longest one.

This took about 5-10 minutes. My second guess came from my list of start words. It was one of two words that fit.

This is the first time in any game of Wordle (5, 6, or 7 letter) that I have ever finished with an equal number of green, yellow and black tiles.

This my first 6G this month, thus extending the streak of months with at least one 6G to 4. It is also the third one in the past 8 games even though on average (6/99) it happens considerably less frequently.

This makes 3 games in a row that I have started with 0.2.4 which is the first time that has happened with this particular opening. It ties a similar streak of opening with 0.1.5 which happened a little over a week ago.

I consulted my list of start words when working on my second guess but nothing on the list fit. It took me little while to figure out what to play for my third guess. I played the first word that I came up with that fit.

This is my first 7G of the month and sixth one overall. The previous one occurred 55 days ago on Sep 7.

This is the second time in any Wordle game (and second time today) that I finished a game with an equal number of green, yellow, and black tiles.

This is my 100th game of Wordle-7 or Septle. My overall average is currently 3.95 but it was 3.88 twenty-five games ago. My average for the past 25 games is 4.16 which makes sense considering that lately my average has been on the rise.

I have had one 0Y and one 7G in the past 25 games. Overall I have had six 7G games and two OY games.

I get at least 3 letters (yellow or green) more often than not (59/100) on my first guess. The most I letters (Y or G) I have got on my first guess is 5 but that has only happened on two occasions. It is unusual (12/100) for me to get more than 1 green letter on my first guess. I have never got more than three green letters on my first guess. More often than not (64/100) I don’t get any green letters on my first guess. Three of the four times I have not got any green or yellow letters on my first guess have happened in the past 25 games.

I have finished the game in 2 guesses just three times and I have yet to guess the correct answer on my first guess. I have only taken 7 guesses to finish a game on two occasions, one of which was in the past 25 games. I have yet to finish a game in 8 guesses or fail to find the correct answer.
